New ATFT Website Privacy Policy

As most of you are probably aware, every website in the Universe, it seems, has updated their privacy policies. ATFT is no different. All this is because of the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) instituted in the European Union on 25 May 2018. Although this doesn’t affect people in the USA or outside the EU, it’s a good idea and good practice. The new regulations are designed to protect you as website visitors regarding data collected by websites. It’s actually a very good idea and leads to much more transparency and user control.

In short, for ATFT, I collect your name (optional) and email address when you subscribe to the blog. The list is handled and maintained by Mailchimp. I use this info for sending out the weekly blog notification, quarterly newsletters, and special deals such as new book announcements and giveaways. I never share that data with anyone.

However, when you visit the website, your visit is automatically tracked by Google Analytics and other website WordPress plugins to gather statistics. Furthermore, if you click on ads or links that take you outside my website, your data may be collected by them as well. For all the details about what happens behind the scenes and what you can do to control all that, check out my new Privacy Policy page. Then, if you have any further questions, just email me at info @ atravelfortaste.com (no spaces).

Lastly, you can always unsubscribe from the mailing list any time you like using the link that is always included at the bottom of the email. But I hope you don’t!

So, because all this is kind of a pain and kind of boring, have some prairie dogs to make you feel better.

And, mostly, thanks for visiting my website!
