Here’s a happy spring crocus for you!
Happy Easter and all the other joyous spring celebrations happening this time of year (not including tax day)!
Today I don’t have a destination to report, but I am reminding you of my latest book, Traditional Old-World Easter-Egg Coloring Techniques, available in Kindle and print form on Amazon, along with all my other books. This book has full, step-by-step instructions for boiling and blowing eggs, then coloring them in traditional ways, not that supermarket egg-coloring-kit way. This is really fun, especially for kids. Get yours today!
It's almost time for Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany. However, if you have no Lederhosen or are in the Tampa area of Florida, you can celebrate the German tradition with a couple of quaffs from the International Beer Garten in Lutz, FL, just off the Suncoast Parkway at Highway 54 in Pasco County. Tell 'em I sent ya. Prost!
Curly-cut radishes - they call them Radi at Oktoberfest in Germany, and their salty goodness is the perfect accompaniment to beer. You can make them at home with a vegetable spiral-cutter and little else. They are delicious as well as raw vegan, gluten-free, non-dairy and all that other healthy stuff.
The headquarters of the Munich Reinsurance Company in Germany resides in this imposing piece of architecture built just for their own purposes. Designed by architects Oswald Eduard Bieber and Wilhelm Hollweck; built in 1912/13, it's located across the street from the Munich Riding School on the edge of the English Garden.
