I challenged myself to create a more-or-less authentically traditional American Thanksgiving dinner in my little corner of Bavaria in Germany. I had to find the ingredients then convincingly put everything together. I think I did fairly well, and my Polish friend agreed!
November 1 is a day of honoring past family members in Germany. But it isn't like Day of the Dead in Mexico. Families do visit the cemetery, but the mood is somber, just like the weather.
Kronach, a lovely little town in Bavaria, has an annual event in which the entire town is creatively lit up at night. It's called Kronach Leuchtet, which means, "Kronach Lights Up"!
