Historic Arvada Olde Town district in Colorado, just outside Denver's downtown. Preserved buildings, a farmers market, bakeries, taverns, an Odd Fellows Hall and numerous other remarkable sights accompany the many restaurants and cafes there.
Buffalo Bill's Grave and Museum (Pahaska Teepee) on Lookout Mountain in Golden, CO. Just outside of Denver, this is a family, kid-friendly tourist destination. The views are spectacular and the museum is well done.
The Georgetown Loop Railroad that departs from either Devil's Gate Station or Silver Plume Depot is a fun tourist attraction for the whole family. It traces a restored mining route, can include a mine tour and panning for gold or silver, and uses historic, restored steam locomotives. At a moderate price, it's a good daytrip from Denver, Colorado, into the Rockies.
Historic Hotel Denver in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, high in the Rocky Mountains boasts a prime location next to the public hot springs pool and hand-laid tile lobby. Step into the lobby from the adjoining Glenwood Canyon Brewpub and experience a bit of upscale Old West history.
Glenwood Springs Adventure Park amusement park high in the Rocky Mountains is a fun family vacation spot and great for kids. A gondola skylift takes you up to an Old West style park with rides, shows, games and even panning for gold!
