About two hours from Tampa Bay or Orlando, Micanopy's numerous antique shops reside in a quaint, old-Florida neighborhood under a canopy of Spanish moss. A couple of nice places to eat and a stroll amid whatnots from days gone by is a nice break from the hubbub of the big city and the amusement parks.
Another in my series of what to do with out-of-town visitors near Tampa Bay, Florida. In Christmas, FL, Jungle Adventures is a little farther afield than most of my destinations, but well worth a visit. Live gators, panthers, peacocks, tortoises - you name it. The staff is enthusiastic and the building is unforgettable.
