Throwback Tuesday Post (TBTP) from 2010: November 1 is a day of honoring past family members in Germany. But it isn't like Day of the Dead in Mexico. Families do visit the cemetery, but the mood is somber, just like the weather.
My first foray into what I hope is a long-running series: ghost towns. First up, Dearfield, Colorado, founded by O. T. Jackson in 1910. It's the site of a former African-American agricultural colony that thrived until the Great Depression and Dust Bowl of the 1930s. Here are photos of the ramshackle remains.
