An unused smokestack in downtown Denver sports a paint job that makes it look like a giant pencil, complete with eraser. Although not one of Denver's top tourist attractions, it's pretty neat to see.
A visit to Avery Brewing Company has its address in Boulder, Colorado. But really it's in the Gunbarrel area of Boulder County. Each local brewery here has its own gig, and Avery's is lots of diverse beer types, plus a surprisingly creative and delicious kitchen! Check out the photos of their wonderful, two-story taproom.
Two bronze sculptures of Teddy Roosevelt, both by sculptor Dan Snarr, flank Longs Peak Avenue in Longmont, Colorado, just across from Roosevelt Park. Do you sense a theme? T. Roosevelt actually made a whistlestop in Longmont in 1900 while campaigning as Vice-Presidential candidate to William McKinley. This post presents pictures of both statues plus the park, along with some interesting info.
Denver's Auto Show doesn't disappoint, with everything from high-end Bentleys and McLarens to more practical Subarus, Toyotas and Fords. Plus MINIs! It was my first time inside the Convention Center, too, which was a nice experience. See all the great photos, and a video of the Jeep "off-road" course.
