Föhn in Munich: Weirdly Warm Winter Day

More or less unique to Munich, at least in Germany, the Föhn is a weather phenomenon created by hot, dry wind coming off the north side of the Alps. It consists of unseasonably warm, sunny weather in winter. A perfect day for seeking out off-the-beaten-path sights in the Bavarian capital.

Architecture of Munich Reinsurance Company’s HQ

The headquarters of the Munich Reinsurance Company in Germany resides in this imposing piece of architecture built just for their own purposes. Designed by architects Oswald Eduard Bieber and Wilhelm Hollweck; built in 1912/13, it's located across the street from the Munich Riding School on the edge of the English Garden.
