Patel Brothers Indian Marketplace, Tampa, FL

Because I am now writing a second blog with a friend called America’s Test Chicken, I’ve gotten deeply involved in the cuisine of India. Radi, the German Radish They Eat with Beer

Curly-cut radishes - they call them Radi at Oktoberfest in Germany, and their salty goodness is the perfect accompaniment to beer. You can make them at home with a vegetable spiral-cutter and little else. They are delicious as well as raw vegan, gluten-free, non-dairy and all that other healthy stuff.

Kallitypes and Czech Pickled Sausage Salad (Utopenci)

This cold, pickled sausage salad is a staple in Europe. The Germans have a similar dish called Wurstsalat. This is a Czech family recipe given to me when I lived there a few years ago, and you can find it in my book ATFT: Collected Czech Family Recipes. It makes a great snack, light meal, game day nosh or potluck dish.
