A well-done ski and snowboard museum at Vail's Transporation Center, part of Vail Village. Excellent displays of snowsport history, this free family and kid-friendly museum is worth a stop and a few dollars in the donation box.
A visit to charming, alpine Vail Village at the base of the ski slopes in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Snowy photos and cozy shops and restaurants included!
A beautiful winter activity: the Ice Castles in Dillon, Colorado, about 65 miles from Denver. Check out my photos of the manufactured icicle walls embedded with LED lights, a frozen fountain and many tunnels. Slide down an ice slide with me, too!
Here are some pictures from historic Georgetown, Colorado, an Old West town dating from 1859. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, it hosts one end of the Georgetown Loop Historic Steam Train. Every October, they celebrate John Denver and the movie The Christmas Gift.
