My second trip to Nuremberg to see the Albrecht Durer exhibit - except it didn't happen this time, either! Nevertheless, I visited Cafe Literaturhaus and Buchhandlung Walther Konig - a wonderful cafe and even more wonderful art bookstore.
Join me for Sunday Brunch at Schloss Seehof in Bamberg, Germany. You'll see replica furniture and furnishings, as well as a few originals from the late 1600s. Tour the interior and castle grounds, see the water fountain show and get a look at the being-restored labyrinth.
Wide-ranging art exhibit at Bamberg, Germany's Villa Dessauer, a historical mansion. Picasso, Beuys, Dali, Chagall, Lindner, Hundertwasser, Kandinsky, and many, many other famous artists are displayed.
A visit with my friends in Kronach, Bavaria, just up the road from Bamberg. The occasion: Crana Historica, a medieval festival with castle battle reenactments from the 30 Years War against Sweden, plus camps, peasants, nobles and vendors from the Middle Ages.
Another great daytrip from Bamberg, Germany, in Bavaria, to Frankfurt. Destination this time: the Edvard Munch art exhibit at the Schirn Museum. Trains and photos and a beer in the old Roemerberg with half-timbers and medieval style.
Daytrip from my digs near Bamberg, Germany, to Forchheim in Bavaria, a small, medieval town with old-school Fachwerk (half-timber) buildings and all manner of old German sights. You'll see the new Bamberg Radhaus (bike garage) and learn some history of the area, too!
